Bataan local government taps Globe for SAP distribution
MANILA – Globe Labs and Bataan provincial government have used technology through Amber, the telco;s SMS b lasting tool that allows businesses and organizations to send branded and customizable message to engage their target audience.
With the general community quarantine still on, people are allowed only when necessary and the strict observance of social distancing and the use of face masks at all times. These guidelines made Bataan local government to tap Globe to streamline the processing and approval of its Social Amelioration Program (SAP) for their constituents.
Through the service, information about the SAP was circulated to the public safely and effectively. Reports about the subsidy were circulated through text message, it minimized overcrowding in public places and restrained the spread of the dreaded virus.
“Modern challenges require modern solutions. Given that our national government mandated most of us to stay in our homes, some LGUs may find it difficult to share information about SAP cash aid,” said Albert de Larrazabal, Globe Chief Commercial Officer. He said this is true for provinces with limited access to social media. Amer allows LGUs to prepare in responding to their constituents requirement for connectivity and communication.
The partnership involves Bataan authorities receiving a million incoming SMS credits and 500,000 outgoing credits.
“We are pleased with the results of our partnership with Globe and Amber. Almost 170,000 households in Bataan participated in providing us with the information we needed to allocate and identify the recipients of food packs,” said Bataan Second District Rep. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III. He added instead of requesting people to fill up a form and submit their data to a representative, we asked our residents to send their details through text response, making the process accessible and centralized.
In a statement, Globe said Amber is Globe Labs’ all-in-one SMS solution. Clients can develop campaigns in minutes and send out thousands of messages at once.
