Exposed to campus journalism during high school and college days and landed a job at DWCW - GTV Lucena where he wrote news, did field reports, handled late evening platter shows and passed the KBP Accreditation Exams sans any unit in Broadcasting and Journalism. He worked full-time at DWGW-IBC in Legazpi City and became Reuters Stringer and Correspondent for Manila Bulletin from 1980 onward. In 1994, he joined DZRV-Radio Veritas and covered DND, DTI, DOE, DILG, DOTC, CHR, House of Representatives, Supreme Court, to become its Station Manager in 2004. Joined CBCP Media Office in 2007 and became Correspondent for China Radio International from 2010 to 2018. He began writing for Asia Pacific Daily in 2018 and has covered Defense, Foreign Affairs, Business and Trade, Health and Energy. He is still an Accredited Broadcast Journalist with the KBP and an active member of the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines.
