Trade and Industry Secretary Lopez tested COVID-19 positive
MANILA – Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon M. Lopez, now 65 years old, tested positive for COVID-19.
Secretary Lopez, a strong advocate for the reopening of the economy, said in a short message to media practitioners that he tested COVID-19 positive. He said the result came our Monday.
“I had myself swabbed Sunday after exposure last Tuesday (last week) from a person who tested positive,” he said.
The Trade and Industry Department executive attended a virtual press conference past midday today and confirmed he is on isolation and asymptomatic.
Several other cabinet officials have tested COVID-19 positive but have successfully recovered. (Melo M. Acuña)
