New COVID-19 cases reach all-time high of 18,332
MANILA – In another mind-boggling report, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed there were 18,332 new COVID-19 cases after tests conducted on 64,957 yielded 24.9% positive cases. This brings the total cases to 1,857,646 where 1,695,335 recovered for 91.3%. The fatalities reached 151 as of 4:00 P.M. today with a total of 31,961 deaths attributed to the dreaded coronavirus.
The DOH however, did not specify whether majority of those who tested positive were inoculated with what vaccines.
ICU beds in Metro Manila reported 71% utilized from a total of 1.4k beds. Isolation beds, from 4.6k were utilized at 60% and ward beds from a total of 4.1k was 71% utilized as well as 58% of ventilators, from a total of 1.1k.
On a nationwide scale, from a total of 4.1 total beds, 73% have been utilized, with isolation beds of 20.1k, the DOH reported 61% have been utilized so far. Ward beds of about 14.3k, 67y% have been utilized. From a total of 2.2k ventilators, 54% have so far been utilized. (Melo M. Acuña)
