Additional donations from China arrive for anti-COVID-19 campaign

Chinese-made testing kits, disposable overalls arrive

MANILA – Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. and Chief Implementer of the National Plan Against COVID-19 Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. received the additional Chinese government’s donation of 150,000 testing kits and 18,000 disposable overalls from Chinese Ambassador to Manila Huang Xilian in simple ceremonies at the DFA Lobby today.

In a statement, the DFA said the donations are scheduled arrived on board two separate chartered flights. The 150,000 testing kits and some of the 18,000 disposable overalls arrived yesterday while the remaining overalls are scheduled to arrive tonight.

Among those who witnessed the simple turnover rites were Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Concerns Atty. Brigido J. Dulay, Undersecretary Mario C. Villaverde, Chief of presidential Protocol and Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs Robert Eric. A. Borje, Foreign Affairs Asst. Secretary for Asian and Pacific Affairs Meynardo LB Montealegre, and DOH Director Ariel Valenecia. (Melo M. Acuña)
