AFP in different relief and restoration activities

Armed Forces of the Philippines-NCR in road clearing operations; other elements sent to Cagayan Valley and Bicol region


MANILA – A squad from the 51st Engineering Brigade of the Philippine Army was assigned to do road clearing operations at Barangay Industrial Valley in Marikina City.


Major General Edgard Arevalo, AFP spokesperson said the squad had a payloader, a backhoe loader, two dump trucks and one grader.


They were also tasked to clear C-5, Caparas St. and Ulandes as well as President Quirino St., at Cinco Hermanos. The soldiers were part of the Joint Task Force National Capital Region (J

TFNCR).


Meanwhile, at least 250 sacks of rice of 50 kilos each and at least 2,000 kilos of relief goods have been delivered by the Armed Forces of the Philippines to local disaster relief officials in Tuguegarao, Cagayan Province. The goods were transported by the PAF’s 220th Air Wing.


Personnel aboard the Landing Dock 601 began unloading relief goods and assorted cargoes at San Andres Port in Catanduanes this morning.


In a related development, soldiers from the 92nd Infantry Battalion of the Joint Task Force-NCR and the 80th Infantry Battalion of the 2nd Division, Philippine Army distributed relief goods to residents of San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal this morning. (Melo M. Acuña)
