AztraZeneca vaccines up for delivery
MANILA – Over half a million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines are due to arrive on Monday, March 1,2021.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said 525,600 doses of the University of Oxford-developed vaccines will be delivered as part of the first round of allocated doses from the COVAX facility.
“This forms part of the 44 million doses of COVAX to inoculate 20% of our population,” Secretary Roque said in a statement released late Saturday afternoon.
He said the government is thankful to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
He added they are thankful to the medical frontline workers and foreign partners for all the assistance.
“Together we will heal and recover as one nation and one people,” he concluded. (Melo M. Acuña)
