COVID-19 positive cases continue to rise
MANILA – The Department of Health reported an additional of 3,109 confirmed COVID-10 cases from the tests done by 82 out of 99 laboratories nationwide.
As of 4:00 P.M., 1,700 newly-announced cases came from the National Capital Region (NCR), 169 from Laguna, 114 from Cebu, 98 from Rizal and 93 from Cavite provinces. The same report disclosed 91.2% were mild cases, 7.5% were asymptomatic, 0.7% were severe and 0.6% were critical.
Today, the Philippines has 129,913 confirmed cases. With 654 new recoveries reported as 0f 4:00 P.M. Sunday, a total of 67,673 have recovered. Sixty-one persons were reported to have succumbed to the virus resulting in the total number of fatalities to 2,270.
At the Department of Foreign Affairs, different Philippine embassies and consulates abroad reported 39 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 23 new recovered in the Americas and Middle East/Africa. No fatalities were reported today.
Incidentally, the DFA reported 124,717 land-based and sea-based Filipinos have been repatriated as of midnight Saturday. From the total, 75,062 were land-based workers or 75,062 while 39.8% or 49,655 were sea-based personnel. (Melo M. Acuña)
