Positive COVID-19 cases now 8,772 and 1,084 recoveries
MANILA – The Department of Health reported this afternoon that 8,772 positive cases have been confirmed in the Philippines with 1,084 recoveries and 579 deaths as 284 news cases have been identified and 41 new recoveries have been listed as today.
Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs said a daily average of 43 new COVID-19 have been recorded for the past month. In a statement released this afternoon, the DFA said total cases of Filipinos afflicted with COVID-19 abroad reached 1,707 where 458 individuals have been verified by DFA personnel, 455 recoveries and 1,050 are undergoing treatment and 202 deaths in 46 countries worldwide.
The Philippine Coast Guard, in its statement released today said they have assisted in the safe disembarkation and transport of 177 overseas Filipino workers from Metro Manila to their home provinces in the Visayas.
Health documents of the latest arrivals have been carefully examined. Hey boarded buses for Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo province and Iloilo.
The Philippine Coast Guard also reported their medical team’s activities at Sun Princess and Sapphire Princes cruise ships where 527 Filipino seafarers were subjected to rapid antibody testing.
