Globe gets into Third Pillar

Globe Telecom acquires majority stake at Third Pillar

MANILA Globe Telecom, Inc. (“Globe”) with its subsidiary, GTI Business Holdings, Inc. entered into an agreement to acquire 67% stake in Third Pillar Business Applications, Inc. (TPBAI). The agreement requires TPBAI to acquire shares of Third Pillar Global Delivery Center, Inc., its outsourcing affiliate.

In a statement, Globe said Third Pillar is the country’s largest Gold Partner of Salesforce, the world leader in CRM solutions. Third Pillar has credited for the growth of Salesforce in the Philippines, with a client roster which includes the country’s largest companies.

Third Pillar is the exclusive local partner and reseller of Syniti (then known as BackOffice Associates), a US-based company that has been solving the world’s most complex data challenges for over two decades.

“The importance of digital solution today is more pronounced that ever and we continue to enable clients, be it top companies or small and medium businesses, to achieve the most from their digital transformation journey,” said Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu in a statement. He added the acquisition of Third Pillar expands their suite of cloud business offerings including Software-as-a-Service applications, which is the platform of choice of businesses who needs faster service capabilities in a cost-effective manner.

Third Pillar President and CEO Jennifer Ligones said Globe’s investment empowers both entities to face the the digital future from a position of strength.

“Globe will be able to enhance its ability to provide enterprise business solutions to its customers, which is a critical complement to its core business,” Miss Ligones said. She added Third Pillar will be able to achieve greater efficiencies and sustainable local and global growth as it gains access to Globe’s platform, customer case and expertise.

Accordingly, the transaction forms part of Globe’s strategy to be the trusted advisor of enterprise customers in the Information and Communications Technology space through the introduction and implementation of efficient, reliable and leading-edge technologies. (Melo M. Acuña)
