Globe suppliers called to adhere to sustainable practices

Globe calls on suppliers to adopt sustainable practices; buy local

MANILA – Globe Telecom called on its domestic and foreign suppliers to adopt sustainable practices in their daily operations and to locally source their materials and services to spur development in communities particularly during the pandemic.

Globe Telecom has over 1,000 suppliers whom they asked to support to their campaign to deliver significant indirect economic impact in its operating ecosystem.

According to records, Globe provided P86.5 billion worth of business to local suppliers alone.

Globe Telecom has planned to partner with businesses that share its values of sustainability in the areas of Labor, Health & Safety, Business Continuity, Environment and Government and Ethics. The company, according to their statement, has begun to evaluate proposals not only on the basis of best-value but also taking into account their environmental and social policies and practices.

Being a signatory to the UN Global Compact (UNGC), Globe aligns its commitment to the 10 UNGC Principles with four key themes, Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption to its supply chain. It emphasized the provisions in Globe’s Supplier Code of Ethics (SCOE) clearly lays down the company’s expectations from its partners with regard to doing sustainable practices through standards of quality and business integrity. The company also conducts vendor self-assessment to check the awareness of its vendors on sustainability principle as part of its Sustainable Supply Chain Management program.
