New COVID-19 cases reach 8,920
MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) today said there are 8,920 new COVID-19 cases across the country bringing the total number of cases to 756,199.
In its release at 4:00 P.M. today, the DOH said there were 205 recoveries for the past 24 hours while six others succumbed to the virus.
From the 34,270 individuals tested, 21.1% tested positive. Of those tested positive, 98.5 were mild and asymptomatic.
Last Tuesday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases will meet on Black Saturday to discuss its strategies for the month of April.
A press briefing has been scheduled for early Saturday evening.
It will be recalled the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) was declared from March 29 to April 4, 2021 for the National Capital Region and the nearby provinces of Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite and Laguna. (Melo M. Acuña)
