MANILA – The Armed Forces of the Philippines – Western Mindanao Command (WESTMINCOM) confirmed a roadside explosion Friday night killed a member of the Philippine Marines (PM) with four other companions wounded.
The incident took place at Barangay Lipongoz, Datu Hoffer town in Magiundanao Province.
Official reports disclosed a military convoy from the 5th Military Company of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 5 was travelling at the said area when the explosion took place.
“Investigation is ongoing to identify the perpetrators of this inhumane act of terrorism” said Major General Juvymax Uy, commanding general of the Joint Task Force Central Command.
