PNP meets mall security managers
MANILA – The PNP-led Joint Task Force COVID Shield under General Archie Francisco Gamboa and other police officials met with mall security managers today and discussed the strict implementation of rules to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19.
Police Lt. General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, Commander of the JTF COVID Shield said he reminded the security managers of the anti-corona virus protocols that have been agreed and for strict implementation as a condition to reopen the malss under both the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MEQC) and the General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
“Let us not make the malls the ground zero of the new wave of coronavirus infection. Let us work together to start the normalization of your business while at the same time observing each and everyone’s obligation to protect the health of the Filipino people,” General Eleazar said.
He added all concerted efforts will be wasted should protocols remain unobserved. He said the experience of a number of malls last Saturday saw the excitement of mallgoers after a lockdown that lasted two months.
“It all boils down really on the implementation. We trust that our mall managers already learned the lessons from the incidents in some malls in order to come up wit better implementation of our protocols,” General Eleazar added.
Among the PNP officials who attended the meeting were Police Major General Emmanuel Luis Licup, head of the Directorate for Operations, Police Major General Roberto Fajardo, Director of the Civil Security Group, Police Major General Debold Sinas, NCRPO director, Police Brig. General John Dubria, Chief of the Supervisory Office on Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) and the five district directors of the National Capital Region. (Melo M. Acuña)
