Palace satisfied with latest SWS Survey
MANILA – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Malacanang is satisfied with the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) National Phone Survey on COVID-19 safety measures. In a statement, Malacanang said the results were encouraging because most Filipinos have been following the recommended health protocols by the national government.
“We are particularly pleased with the survey results indicating that 79% of Filipinos always use a face mask when going otr of the house, 67% always wash their hands several times a day, 60% always keep physical distance, and 56% always use a face shiled in public transportation and establishments,” Secretary Roque said.
He added the results show that the government’s drive to inform and educate people to observe public health standards have reached the greater majority of the people.
He explained the success of the campaign should not lull everyone to complacency because there is still no vaccine nor available cure. The people need to adhere to persistent government calls to follow COVID-19 safety measures especially now when the country has opted to gradually reopen the economy.
“We have to take care of the health of our people even as we look after the economic health of the nation,” he concluded. (Melo M. Acuña)
