Government to issue common travel protocol soon
MANILA – With common carriers offering budget fares for domestic flights hoping to regain the public’s confidence to travel, the national government will soon release a common protocol for the national and local government units.
This was the gist of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque’s explanation about the people’s seeming lack of confidence to travel to the provinces and to Metro Manila because of different rules and regulations pertaining to health standards.
“There are different policies from different local government units and that is the reason why people are not inclined to travel,” he said.
He looks forward to the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infections Diseases to formulate rules that would be implemented by different local government units.
However, Secretary Roque said it would be a top priority to convince local government units. (Melo M. Acuña)
