More COVID-19 cases reported
MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) today said 2,442 cases have been added to COVID-19 positive cases. However, they reported there 11,430 who recovered while 54 others died.
In a statement released Sunday afternoon, the DOH said 6.9% or 27,218 were active cases with 91.2% or 361,638 have fully recovered while 1.90% or 7,539 have died.
Of the 2,442 cases reported today, 2,200 or 90% occurred within the past 14 days or October 26 to November 8,2020. The top COVID-19 generators during the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 612 cases or 28%, Region IV-A with 522 or 24% and Region III with 167 cases or 8%.
From the 54 deaths, 39 took place in November or 72%, 12 in October or 22%, 2 in September or 4% and I in August or 2%. The deaths were reported from Region VI or Western Visayas with 11 or 20%, NCR had 10 or 19%, Region III with 9 or 17%, Region IV-A with 8 or 15%, CARAGA with 3 or 6%, Regions I, VII and 8 with two fatalities apiece for 4% whiles Regions IX and X had one each for a total of 2% apiece. Eight duplicates were also removed from the list and three were reported to be both with one fatality for 2%.
Five cases earlier reported as recovered were reclassified as deaths. There were 13 laboratories which failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System over the weekend. (Melo M. Acuña)
