As the world observes World AIDS day, more COVID-19 cases reported

COVID-19 cases reach 432,925 today


MANILA – The Department of Health (DoH) today said 1,298 new COVID-19 cases have been reported as of 4:00 P.M. for a total of 432,925 cases across the country.


From these figures, it was learned there are 25,725 active cases or 5.9% while there were 135 new recoveries. The total number of recoveries reached 398,782 or 92.1%.


There were 27 reported fatalities in the latest DoH tally bring the number of deaths to 8,418 or 1,94% of the total cases.


There were 84 new cases from Ilocos Norte, 61 from the City of Manila, 55 from Quezon Province, 50 from Laguna and 47 from Negros Occidental. From over 1,900 beds, there are 59% available. With 13,500 isolation beds across the country, some 63% are available and from 5,900 ward beds nationwide, 71% remain available.


From the 2,000 mechanical ventilators, 82% are available. From the total number of active cases, 84% are considered mild and 7.4% are asymptomatic while 5.4% are critical as 2.9% are severe and 0.30% has been classified moderate. (Melo M. Acuña)
