Chinese envoy said PH-CH relationship strong after the visit.

Ambassador Huang reiterates China’s support for the Philippines

MANILA – Ambassador Huang Xilian said State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s two-day visit to the Philippines started the high-level exchanges between the two countries.

In his video message sent to media outlets in Manila, Ambassador Huang said Minister Wang relayed three important messages to President Rodrigo Duterte and Foreign Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr.

“First, China will do its utmost to help the Philippines in its anti-pandemic efforts. Second, China will strongly support the Philippines’ efforts to achieve post-pandemic economic and social recovery at an early date. Third, China will firmly support the Philippines in safeguarding its sovereignty and national dignity,” he said.

Minister Wang said China remains committed to promote the China-Philippines relationship of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation “with more tangible benefits to the two countries and the two peoples.”

During the visit, both sides agreed to reinforce cooperation to defeat the pandemic by sharing experience in containment, resumption of work and production. They also discussed issues related to the Fast Lane for Urgent Personnel Exchanges between China and the Philippines.

Economic recovery for both countries will be hastened with the implementation of cooperation projects. The projects funded by China will push through as planned. Friendship and goodwill will further be enhanced with the organization of more people-to-people activities beginning with the “Manila Forum” with former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo under the aegis of the Association for Philippines-China Understanding (APCU).

Ambassador Huang said both the Philippines and China agreed differences will be properly addressed as in the South China Sea. Both sides agreement the South China Sea issue is not sum of all issues about Philippines and the South China Sea. (Melo M. Acuña)
