Department of Foreign Affairs: Postpone your travel to Iraq
MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs called on Filipino travelers to Iraq, those working for international organizations, (IOs) and non-government organizations (NGOs) with humanitarian projects or scheduled speaking engagements in Iraq to postpone their scheduled travel.
In a statement released Friday afternoon, the DFA said in the event that planned trips can no longer be postponed, all are reminded to check if there are active curfews currently imposed in the specific province in Iraq. Travelers should avoid booking flights with early morning hours or late night hour arrivals in Baghdad, Basra and other airports in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the advisory added. (Melo M. Acuña)
