Globe continues to install additional cell sites

With Globe’s 212 new cell sites in NCR, improved services assured for Metro Manila customers

MANILA – Globe Telecom has successfully met its target of installing 212 new cell sites in Metro Manila for the first half of 2021.

The accomplishment comes amidst difficulties posed by quarantine and health protocols as Globe sustained the momentum in building the required ICT infrastructure to further improve mobile and internet services.

“We are very optimistic that these new cell sites will help boost better mobile experiences for our customers as connectivity becomes an essential part of their everyday lives. We know their concerns and are doing our best to address them in the soonest possible time. These installations will definitely boost mobile experience not only in Metro Manila but in nearby provinces as well,” said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

In a statement, Globe said their network rollout efforts from January resulted in more installations in Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Laguna, Cebu, Bulacan and Pampanga.

There are 39 new towers in key locations in Cavite and 26 new sites in Rizal with 25 new cell sites in Batangas and Laguna. There were at least 17 new cell sites in Cebu, Bulacan and Pampanga for the first half of 2021.

Agustin further said similar efforts are underway in more provinces not only in Luzon but in Visayas and Mindanao. Globe has been cited as the most consistent mobile network for two consecutive quarters this year according to Ookla®. The Consistency Score in Q1 was 70.43 and Q2 2021 was 75.98.

Globe vigorously supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically UN SDG No. 4 on the provision of quality education and UN SDG No. 9, underscoring the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development. The company also champions the UN Global Compact principles and contributes to 10 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. (Melo M. Acuña)
