Death toll hits 401 as new active cases reach 12,225
MANILA – Today’s death toll reached an all-time high of 401 as new active cases soared to 12,225. According to the Department of Health (DOH), there were 946 recoveries.
The total active cases reached 178,351 while those who recovered was reported at 647,683. The death toll rose to 14,520 or 1.73% of the total number.
The total number of cases reached 840,554.
According to its media release at 4:00 P.M. today, 39,630 were tested and 21.4% were found positive. About 98.8% were mild and asymptomatic.
The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases is expected to meet tomorrow to discuss the immediate plans as the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) for Metro Manila and four nearby provinces will end on Monday, April 12. (Melo M. Acuña)
