Inauguration of the completed Public works projects set for Q4

Ortigas – BGC road link to be opened in Q4

MANILA – Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said they hope to finish the complete BGC-Ortigas Center Link Road Project within this year’s last quarter after they inaugurated the 40-meter Kalayaan Bridge between Pasig and Makati cities in time for the country’s 123rd Independence Day yesterday.

He said once the link road project is completed, slow moving traffic along EDSA and C-5 Road will be reduced by at least 20 percent.

The Kalayaan Bridge, a viaduct structure with road widening and rehabilitation workers will lead to lighter traffic flow between the two business centers.

Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil K. Sadain said the construction of the 565-meter Lawton Avenue – Global City Viaduct is another component of the 1.367 kilometer BGC-Ortigas Center link Road Project which has already reached the Kalayaan Avenue intersection.
