Increase in COVID-19 cases noted by DOH

Nearly 2,000 new COVID-19 cases recorded today


MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) today reported 1,949 new COVID-19 cases for a total of 513,619.


The DOH, in its statement today revealed 7,729 new recoveries bring the total number of recovered cases to 475,612. The Philippines as of 4:00 P.M., Sunday has 27,765 active cases. There were 53 new deaths which brought the total number of fatalities to 10,242.


Davao City reported 99 new cases while Quezon Province had 98 followed by Cavite with 74, Baguio had 73 new cases while Leyte province reported 63.


It will be recalled the DOH reported 16 new cases of the variant in the Philippines. Two villages in Bontoc, Mountain Province yielded 12 cases of the UK variant with two have come from Beirut, Lebanon. Benguet and Laguna had one each.
