Two of six Turkish attack choppers up for delivery

First batch of T-129 choppers from Turkey coming in three months


MANILA – The Department of National Defense (DND) today said the first two of six T-129 Attack Helicopters from Turkey will be delivered by September this year.


DND Spokesperson Director Arsenio Andolong said based on the latest developments, “we are expecting the first two units of T-129 Attack Helicopters for the Philippine Air Force to be delivered this September.”


A total of six T-129 Helicopters will be acquired with a total contract price of US$269,388,862 from Turkish Aerospace Industries under a government-to-government mode of procurement (Sec. 4.2 of Republic Act 9184).


The remaining four units will be delivered in February 2022 for two units and February 2023 and the remaining two units. (Melo M. Acuña)
